Eneco and Blijdorp have been collaborating on this sustainable mission and vision for many years. Moreover, Blijdorp is a trusted environment for Eneco's business relations. Eneco assists with knowledge and expertise to gradually green our zoo. In this way, Blijdorp and Eneco contribute to a livable planet.
Thanks to the collaboration between Diergaarde Blijdorp and Maersk, we can replicate a comparable ecosystem on-site. Maersk fills one of its ballast tanks with clean seawater in the Atlantic Ocean, specifically for the zoo, and then transports this tank to Rotterdam.
Thanks to this water and the efforts of Diergaarde Blijdorp, we can create a realistic testing environment and support various research initiatives, such as those by The Ocean Cleanup.
