In Diergaarde Blijdorp, you come face to face with lions and giraffes, the scent of the elephants penetrates deep into your nostrils, and mouths fall wide open at the sight of a bat-eared fox. A visit to the zoo is a journey of discovery without borders and a wonderful addition to nature and environmental education. And we are happy to assist! Our lessons, tailored to the academic year level, challenge students to observe, investigate, and discover. Our ready-made packages are very accessible and make a visit to Blijdorp a celebration for students, teachers, and supervisors.
You pay €5.00 per person for the 2023/2024 school year for a do-it-yourself lesson.
The municipality of Rotterdam supports Blijdorp in its educational goals and makes an annual educational subsidy available to achieve these goals. One of those goals is to introduce every Rotterdam student to the zoo and its residents. We offer Rotterdam schools a 50% discount on an educational visit to support schools within the Rotterdam borders.
