Welcome, Wishu! Just yesterday, our zookeepers brought him over from Planckendael. This young lion is nearing maturity. According to the population management program, he and Lalana are an essential genetic match. Asian lions are critically endangered with only a few remaining in the wild. Thus, the urgency to conserve this species is vital. For the next four weeks, Wishu will be in quarantine, behind the scenes.
