Rotterdam Zoo is temporarily closed to visitors from 15 December 2020. This decision was taken because of the current lockdown against the coronavirus, which were announced by the Dutch government. In the meantime, we will, of course, continue to take good care of our animals and plants. Through our website and online channels we will keep you informed of developments.

I am unable to reserve a time slot for the next two weeks. What is going on?

Rotterdam Zoo is temporarily closed from December 15th due to stricter corona measures. It is therefore not possible to reserve a time slot for a visit during this period.

I have already bought a ticket. Do I have to cancel it now?

No, that is not necessary. Due to the temporary closure, we have extended the redemption period of your ticket by 5 weeks. We advise you to keep your e-ticket in a safe place so that you can use it later. This also applies to action tickets (Samen Sterk/Jumbo Dagje-Uit) and lotteries.

I have reserved a time slot during the period that Rotterdam Zoo is closed. What now?

The reserved time slot is only valid on the chosen day and time. This reservation automatically expires in the closed period from 15 December 2020. You do not have to do anything yourself. As soon as it is clear when Blijdorp will reopen, you can make a new time slot reservation via our website.

Please note: the validity of the admission ticket is mentioned on the e-ticket is extended by the number of days that Blijdorp is closed (approx. 5 weeks).

I bought a ticket via an online booking site for a visit during the period that Blijdorp is temporarily closed. What now?

If you have any questions with regard to rebooking or cancelling tickets from resellers, please contact the organisation from which you purchased a ticket directly.

My membership is about to expire, but I want to continue to support Rotterdam Zoo, right now. What should I do?

This third closure has again major impact on Rotterdam Zoo. Any form of support is still welcome. Although the Blijdorp entrance is temporarily closed, you can, as always, renew your membership or take out a new membership. In this way you support Rotterdam Zoo enormously and you also benefit from a 5% discount.
